Carrie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Fairbanks and is currently working on her masters in Curriculum and Instruction from UAF. She has spent the last five years teaching in the Bering Strait School District in the two villages of White Mountain and Unalakleet in western Alaska. There she taught high school math and science as well as junior high math. She has an interest in technology and differentiated instruction, and enjoys incorporating both into her classroom at all levels.
"Education is much more than the facts we learn. Education is a combination of interacting, processing, and manipulating information. When that happens true learning occurs and eyes light up and interest in learning is captured. It is an amazing process to be a part of."
