BIOGRAPHY

I earned my BA in education from the University of Wyoming; with part of my undergraduate work completed in New Mexico and Arizona. My Master's in education was earned at Pacific University in Anchorage.

My first teaching assignment was in Bear Lake School District #33 where I taught kindergarten and gifted and talented education. I served four schools in the Montpelier, Idaho region. This began my love affair with differentiated instruction. Nine out of my 13 years teaching experience have been as a gifted and talented facilitator working with students Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. I have also taught second and fourth grades. In addition to Idaho, I have taught in Wyoming and for the past 6 years I have been with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District serving students in Seward, Moose Pass and Hope schools.

My personal passions are hiking, learning, writing, reading, creativity, bluegrass music (this one is new, I am just learning, note personal passion number 2), meeting new people, travel, my two adult children, and my little grandgirl.

I am looking forward to working with beginning teachers through the mentor program.

"Every morning is a fresh beginning. Every day is the world made new. Today is a new day. Today is my world made new. I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day. This moment—this day—is as good as any moment in all eternity. I shall make of this day—each moment of this day—a heaven on earth. This is my day of opportunity."
