Long Beach, California is where Larissa began teaching. After two years of teaching first grade in California, Larissa moved to the Anchorage/Eagle River area where she taught third grade. She obtained her teaching credential at the University of Redlands in California, with an emphasis on cross-cultural language and academic development. Later, she received a M.A. in teaching from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Larissa is especially interested in reading instruction. When she is out of the classroom, Larissa enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and skijoring.
"The amazing part of teaching is working with students and seeing their learning every day. I look forward this year to working with excited and energetic beginning teachers and experiencing my own professional growth through mentoring."
