BIOGRAPHY

Morgan has a bachelor's degree in geology from Northern Arizona University and earned an M.A. in teaching and an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His twenty-one years of teaching include four years in Aleknagik and Chignik Lake teaching grades 4-12 students, and eighteen years in Fairbanks teaching secondary gifted students.

"I taught math, science, and a variety of electives to students in grades 4-12 in rural Alaska. My experiences there helped me understand and respect the amazing wealth of cultural knowledge and geographic diversity that makes our state so unique. My Fairbanks years have given me a deep respect for the amazing students we teach. I've had great classroom experiences with kids and adults working in math, science and technology. I've also been able to pursue my dream of traveling to areas around the globe with students on educational trips, and helped develop programs in robotics and technology.

Sharing my love of learning with kids and adults is a passion of mine. I want to help our kids get prepared for their futures in a world filled with unimagined technologies. They deserve the best education possible from excellent teachers, and I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to mentor new teachers. I look forward to this school year."

Morgan has lived in Alaska for almost thirty years with his wife Pam, and enjoys traveling, river-rafting, reading, fishing and playing music.
